Our Role
Innovative scientific research project was initiated to address whether there are any rare ecosystems in the areas of major iron-ore deposits. This included a study of mammals, bats, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, geology, geomorphology, soil, vegetation, flora and ecology. It required a good relationship with the major environmental agencies (IBAMA – Brazilian Environmental Institute and ICMBio – Chico Mendes Institute for the Conservation of Biodiversity).
