Then and now: find the best people, build the best teams.
Golder Associates was founded in Toronto, Canada in 1960 as H. Q. Golder and Associates. The founders - Hugh Golder, Victor Milligan, Larry Soderman and John Seychuk - shared a unique combination of reputation and technical, business and operational skills. Their ambition was to build a high-quality niche player in ground engineering.
Through the 1960s and early 1970s, the company prospered and grew. During these years, Golder Associates established a presence in other parts of Canada and expanded into the U.S., U.K. and Australia. Along the way, we refined our approach to technical problem-solving and client service. The abiding belief of our founders was that clients receive the best work when tight groups of professionals are intensely focussed on solving problems with innovative solutions. That's still our approach today.
