Gold Medal Ranking Goes to Golder Associates For Growth
Jan 25, 2013
Our highly successful year in 2012 has earned us Gold Medal status from the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ). The results we achieved include a growth rate in revenue of 20 percent, year-end results of $1 billion in net revenues, and acknowledgement of our strategy of continued expansion and key acquisitions.
We received top honours in the EBJ's "Business Achievement - Large Companies" category, for firms of $100 million or more in net revenue.
Pietro Jarre, Golder's Vice President of Business Development, said the double-digit growth in our business occurred across our worldwide operation and in all client industries, especially with our global and regional key clients.
This award particularly notes our global expansion. Last year we established an operation in Kazakhstan on the Caspian Sea to better serve our oil and gas clients in that region. Our African expansion included a new office in Ghana and the growing shale gas business led to new offices being opened in North Dakota, USA and Saskatchewan, Canada. In Asia, we continued to build our market presence through the acquisition of Geotechnical Consulting Group (Asia) Ltd., one of Hong Kong's leading consultancies in geotechnical and foundation engineering.
Additionally, Golder in the United States received an "Industry Leadership" award from EBJ for the formation of Professional Development Groups (PDG), which are intended to be an integrated national community for entry- to mid-level staff across all career streams. Formed through a grassroots effort near one year ago, the PDG program was quickly accepted in the workplace across all levels of our organisation.
In the first year of the program, members of the PDG initiative formed 30 local office chapters and developed tools to facilitate internal networking and collaboration. Among the goals are improving effective mentoring programs nationally, increasing engagement with senior principals and associates, providing feedback on human resources processes, and championing continuing education in business development.
