As the United States and other countries continue to focus on alternative forms of energy, landfills are being considered as potential energy sources. Although landfill gas has been used as a renewable energy for over a decade, its popularity continues to grow as landfills increase in size. Furthermore, landfills are being considered as areas for solar and wind energy production given the nature of their open area development. These forms of energy can supplement the use of landfill gas and ultimately increase the profitability of such projects. Please see attached PDF.
