Industrial Hygiene Seen as Key Concern for Multinational Firms

Various

Client
Industries Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas
Services Health & Safety/Industrial Hygiene

Assignment
Traditional corporate approaches of ensuring compliance with regulations are insufficient in managing reputational risks for many large multinational companies with extensive supply chains. Frequently, reports from non-governmental organisations (NGO) and others indicate there continues to be uneven, marginal progress in occupational health and safety programs at supply chain companies.

Our Role
Golder desires to help companies improve their environmental health and safety (EHS) and management to demonstrate responsible supply chain stewardship. We conduct assessments of industrial hygiene (IH) concerns related to exposure of workers to chemical and physical agents including noise and vibration, radiation, heat stress, ventilation, proper lighting, personal protective equipment, and other safety precautions and evacuation procedures throughout the business, including supply chains.

Another important related activity is setting up consultation and engagement programs in developing countries with communities and NGOs who are becoming more vigilant about worker safety and environmental impacts.
